Name: Dameion Notte

Location: Hearing Instrument Practitioner at Canadian Hearing Care, Revelstoke, British Columbia

“I was looking for a job I could retire into and help the most people. I never thought I’d love ears…but to see the look on people’s faces when they walk out and can hear something new is kind of like raising kids and seeing the world through their eyes for the first time.”

What matters most to Dameion is her family. She loves spending time with her three kids and her three dogs. Furthermore, she’s the only Hearing Instrument Practitioner in the small town of Revelstoke, British Columbia and she enjoys the sense of community associated with such a responsibility. When she isn’t spending time with her family, she’s using her larger than life caring nature to help as many people as she can to hear again at Canadian Hearing Care.

“The most rewarding part of my job is informing people on hearing health when they otherwise aren’t informed,” says Dameion. “I like giving new information and helping people hear and live life to the fullest.”

An important component of her job is the Campaign for Better Hearing, which encourages everyone to “test their ears at 60 years.” For every hearing test taken, the campaign sponsors donate $4.00 to provide free hearing aids to those who really need them.

“The Campaign for Better Hearing plays a huge role in my job,” adds Dameion. “It’s an inspiration to me and for me. To help people bring hearing awareness to everyone is truly priceless.”
