Name: Pam Wolfe
Location: Hearing Aid Practitioner at Lloydminster Hearing Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta

“Hearing Loss takes us away from people, but with the Campaign for Better Hearing, I am able to bring them back together.”

Like many of our staff that we’ve interviewed, Pam Wolfe loves working with people. Every day, Pam meets different people with different experiences, all with a common interest in their hearing health.

“Treating someone with a hearing loss and bringing their world back is so rewarding,” says Pam. “Seeing the look on someone’s face when they first put hearing aids on is priceless. The way their eyes get big and the smiles on their faces makes my day. Being able to help put a connection back in their lives is so rewarding.”

Pam studied Psychology for two years before pursuing a career in hearing healthcare. She graduated from the Hearing Aid Practitioner Program at Grant Macewan University in 2009 and has been working at the Lloydminster Hearing Centre for over seven years.

Part of Pam’s job involves the Campaign for Better Hearing’s Give-back Program. For every free hearing test taken through the campaign, $4.00 is donated towards the purchase of hearing aids for those who need them, but can’t afford them.

“Getting the word out and educating people about hearing loss is so important,” says Pam. “The more everyone understands about hearing the more we are able to help them. Hearing Loss takes us away from people, but with the Campaign for Better Hearing, I am able to bring them back together.”
At the end of the day, Pam is family-oriented. After a day of work, as exciting as it is, Pam looks forward to going home and seeing her kids.
“What matters to me most is my family,” says Pam. “I have two little girls: four and 1 ½ years old. Being with them is better than anything.”
