Arlene Lietiphin, the latest recipient of hearing aids through the National Campaign for Better Hearing, realized she had a problem when her hearing started affecting her work.

At 70 years old, Arlene has worn hearing aids for several years. However, working in the clothing department at Sears in Winnipeg, she found herself misunderstanding her customers because she could no longer hear that well. Her hearing had changed over time and the hearing aids she was wearing were no longer adequate for her loss.

After visiting HearingLife Canada, a partner in the Campaign for Better Hearing’s Give-Back program, Arlene was recognized as a worthy recipient of free hearing aids. She was nominated by Hearing Professional, Val Dubois at the HearingLife Canada clinic in Winnipeg.

Arlene is certain that her new hearing aids will help her hear customers better and answer their questions more confidently.

To anyone sitting on the fence regarding doing something about their hearing loss, Arlene advises they take care of the issue soon as possible. “Even if you think you have a very small hearing loss you would be amazed at what you miss.”
