CAMPAIGN AMBASSADOR: Allek Peake

Allek has faced hearing loss challenges for most of his life, starting his journey with HearingLife at the age of 12 in 2007. Now 29, he initially benefited from mid-level hearing aids under his mother’s Ontario Disability Support Program account. However, since reaching adulthood, he has only been able to access basic hearing aids through Ontario Works, which fall short in meeting his daily needs.

Conversations are often a struggle, and advanced technology and mid-range hearing aids have remained out of his financial reach. When asked how being a recipient of this award will impact his life, Allek shared, “It will be a huge difference. I’ve never had the most up-to-date hearing aids before, so I am excited to have this opportunity.”

Thanks to the Campaign for Better Hearing Give-back Program, Allek has received a brand-new pair of hearing aids.
