Name: Jillian Price, M.Sc, Aud (C), Reg. CASLPO
Location: Chief Audiologist at ListenUP! Canada, HearingLife Canada & National Affiliated Providers
“We encourage EVERYONE to get a baseline audiogram. Just like an eye exam is recommended for all, so should an ear exam.”
Jillian graduated with a Master’s Degree in Audiology from the University of Western Ontario in April 2004. Upon graduating, Jillian joined ListenUP! Canada and began working in London, Ontario which is home to the very first ListenUP! Hearing Healthcare Centre.
In March 2010, Jillian joined the ListenUP! Canada Regional Manager Team and in 2013, accepted the role as Chief Audiologist. Jillian has ten years of experience working with the adult population in a busy clinic. Jillian’s role as Chief Audiologist allows her to do what she really loves which is helping those with hearing needs and speaking to the public about hearing loss. She is passionate about hearing awareness, hearing loss prevention and rehabilitation.
Through the Campaign for Better Hearing, Jillian is able to educate Canadians about hearing loss and early detection as well as help those in need through the Give-Back program, something Jillian and the rest of the staff are so excited and honoured to be a part of.
Jillian promotes the Campaign by encouraging everyone to go in for a baseline audiogram. For every hearing test conducted, $4.00 is donated by the National affiliates of the campaign. The money raised goes towards providing hearing aids to those in need and other community based programs. Other than promoting the campaign and hearing loss awareness, Jillian also loves spending time with her family.
According to Jillian, just being aware of the signs of hearing loss is a good start for anyone.
“If you notice a loved one may be exhibiting some of these signs, don’t be afraid to suggest a free hearing test or even offer to go with them and both have your hearing checked together. We encourage EVERYONE to get a baseline audiogram. Just like an eye exam is recommended for all, so should an ear exam,” suggests Jillian.
