LISTENUP! CANADA: TAMI TRAN - The National Campaign for Better Hearing

Name: Tami Tran

Location: Hearing Instrument Specialist at ListenUP! Canada, Toronto, Ontario

“My professional goal is simple: I want to help people. The more people we can educate about hearing loss, the more we can help.”

High energy. Active. Adventurous: Tami Tran is a Hearing Instrument Specialist that has been around the world and she’s our Staff Profile feature for the week!

Tami enjoys playing sports and loves travelling. She recently walked the glaciers in Iceland, motorbiked in Vietnam, camped in the Sahara desert and flew in a hot air balloon over Turkey. An active lifestyle is very important to Tami. What is just as important to her is hearing health awareness and helping her patients hear all the beautiful sounds our world has to offer. She is a proud member of the Campaign for Better Hearing.

“The campaign reminds people that hearing loss is a reality many Canadians face as they get older,” says Tami. “The earlier you detect hearing loss, the better, that’s why the campaign reminds us to check our ears at 60 years!”

Tami graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a Bachelor of Art in Kinesiology before completing the Hearing Instrument Specialist program at George Brown College. For three years and counting, Tami has been working for ListenUP! Canada to bring new sounds into her patients’ lives. It is the most satisfying aspect of her job.

“Hearing is what connects us to people and creates relationships,” says Tami, “I don’t want to see people miss out on this in the world. If I can help people who are struggling with hearing loss, I know I’ll be improving their quality of life.”

Are you ready to start your journey to better hearing? If you are a Canadian over the age of 18 who may have hearing loss, book a free hearing test with us today!
